Biton fans crowded the upstairs of the King Street store in the anticipation of seeing newly-arrived summer styles Friday night. The boutique hosted a fashion show in honor of Father’s Day, drawing a good crowd of the city’s fashion fans. Lines swarmed the open bar, as guests cooled themselves from the sticky hot air that seemed to follow everyone inside on the hottest day of the summer to date. Platters of sushi from Infuzions also were devoured before the models hit the red carpet. The show included styles that patrons have come to love from Biton: fabulous jeans, hip rocker tees, and urban-chic dresses. Three jumpsuits also appeared in the catalog of summer ensembles, including a full-length black pant suit, cotton capris, and shorts jumper. For the well-dressed men in the audience, stylists paired preppy polos and blazers with laid-back jeans, tees, and brightly colored kicks for an edgier feel overall. It was obvious for both sexes that the stylists of Biton have a good understanding of what’s in high demand in Charleston — fashions for long days at the beach and steamy city nights.
