I LOVE the “go back to where you came from” sentiment among “natives” around here. These are probably the same folk telling black people to “go back to Africa”. Unless you’re full blooded Native American, I suggest you dive into your ancestry to find out how you came to inherit the claim that this is your locality. Anyway, Charleston’s charm has more to do with the specific cultural influences during growths of the city. Even those of us from big cities have witnessed explosions of population growth, we too once had farmland and rural areas very close to our downtowns. So let me fill you dingdongs in on a world phenomenon – the human population everywhere is exploding – not just “your” precious Charleston (which I love, and I’m not moving, so there). We can either stop giving 80 year olds Viagra for them to keep fucking and In Vitro to women over 45 (preferably 40) – or we can petition the state and local authorities to figure out what infrastructure means. Until then, please consider learning the traffic technique called merging.
