From now until it’s too cold to go on, the City Market will feature a weekly art show in building ‘B’, the second building from East Bay Street. The show, entitled “Art in the Evening,” will be going on from 7-10:30 p.m. every Friday night.

Peggy Price of City Market Preservation Trust aims to have everything from “fine art to folk art” on display. Already in queue to appear will be some huge fine art sculptures, pottery, paintings, and hand-made jewelry, all painstakingly created by professional, well-established artists. Wooden creations, such as cutting boards and wooden Christmas tree ornaments will also be on display. Prices range all the way from $10 to $10,000.

In addition, there will be a string quartet composed of Charleston Symphony Orchestra members playing light classical music for donations each week. Any artists interested in submitting art for the event should contact Peggy Price at (843) 327-5976.
