If there’s one writer that embodies Charleston, it’s Pat Conroy. “It’d be like Jimmy Buffett visiting my margarita bar in Key West,” Blue Bicycle Books owner Jonathan Sanchez says about Conroy’s book signing later this year. His latest novel South of Broad is already the book store’s all-time best-seller, with hundreds of requests placed for signed copies.
Anticipating a large turnout, Sanchez says the event will likely be held at a nearby venue. Flat signings (books signed without personalization) are strongly discouraged for all of you looking to make a quick buck on eBay. This is Conroy’s only announced book signing for the entire Peninsula. The event takes place on Sat. Dec. 12 from 1-3:30 p.m. Sanchez promises a relaxed atmosphere and a chance to meet one of Charleston’s true gentlemen.
