Mt. Pleasant-based recording studio Charleston Sound — a nicely renovated, 2,000-square-foot professional studio in the Park West area — recently announced a killer deal for independent bands and songwriters (we first read about it in musician, booking agent, and audio engineer Stuart Johnson’s weekly Moultrie News music column "East Cooper Music Scene").

On the heels of the release of its 11-song local band compilation I Got Music, owner and recording engineer Jeff Hodges reached out this fall to the local band scene with three very affordable "Indie Artist Special" offers. Over the nest few months, Hodges and his crew have a "Four-Song Demo Deal" for $399, a "Six-Song EP Deal" for $799 (including video footage and production), and a "10-Song Album Deal" for $999 (including video footage and production). "Wouldn’t it be great to have a CD that required no explanations or apologies?" reads the studio press release. "That’s why we’re introducing new indie artist specials."
