Warren Haynes, the singer/guitarist of Gov’t Mule, presents another massive “family reunion” Christmas Jam in downtown Asheville, N.C. next weekend (Dec. 11-12), with a variety of musical performances, film screenings, comedy, and art shows.
Music venues include the Asheville Civic Center, Stella Blue, The Emerald Lounge, and Jack of the Wood. The list of headliners includes The Counting Crows, Ani DiFranco, Gov’t Mule, moe., William Bell, Col. Bruce Hampton, Jimmy Herring, Kevn Kinney, and many others.
Tickets for the main events at the Civic Center for $55 and a $350 VIP package are available at Ticketmaster.com. Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity.
Three Charleston bands will represent the Lowcountry scene during the weekend (Rusty Cole and Ward Buckhiester, from Sol Driven Train, brought it up to the music department this week). Roots/groove ensembles Gaslight Street and Sol Driven Train share a bill at Stella Blue (31 Patton Ave.) on Fri. Dec. 11, and Americana trio Dangermuffin does a set at the same venue on Sat. Dec. 12.
