Alistair Nairn, former head chef at Five Loaves Cafe’s Cannon Street location, is opening Bistro 536, a casual upscale restaurant, in Belle Station off Long Point Road in Mt. Pleasant. Inspired by his years with Five Loaves, Nairn decided that Mt. Pleasant needed a downtown quality restaurant without the drive or the price.
Bistro 536, whose name is inspired by the address, will specialize in steaks and eclectic American food. Construction on the former Seel’s Fish Camp location is almost completed and Nairn plans to have a soft opening on Dec. 15.
