The Windjammer recently added some notable shows to its winter schedule. Local favorites The Blue Dogs — a veteran troupe popular for their folksy sound and harmonies — headline a post-holiday gig on Sat. Jan. 2. They’ve been working on new material and video projects lately. Local songwriter Amber Caparas opens. Admission is $10. Visit for more.

On Thurs. Jan. 28, the ever-touring Cowboy Mouth return for a co-bill with Austin, Texas-based singer/guitarist Junior Brown. Cowboy Mouth’s loony singing drummer Fred LeBlanc and his New Orleans band recently issued a collection titled Fearless. Brown is revered as the cowboy-hatted master of the twangy "guitsteel." Music starts early at 8 p.m. Admission is $20.

See and for more.
