Could there be a more appropriate venue for a local band called The BBQ Bros. to perform than at Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ? The newly-established quartet — guitarists Yates Dew, Stanfield Gray, Bradley MacLean, and drummer Mike Watson — headline a free show at the West Ashley Home Team spot on Tues. Feb. 2 at 9 p.m.

Playing a mix of folk-rock, guitar-pop, and Americana, the band first started gigging at local parties and clubs after a debut at Awendaw Green’s Grass on the Green concert last year. Since then, they’ve provided twangy entertainment at special events, and worked up a diverse repertoire of vintage rock, country, blues, and bluegrass.

"The BBQ Bros. are a bona fide original band," says Gray. "The sound has completely evolved into a hybrid somewhere between early-R.E.M. and Tom Petty, with a little Wilco on top."
