The annual March Madness Battle of the Bands returns to A Dough Re Mi this month. The kick-off is this weekend, with Casa-Nova, Flood Empty Lakes, and The Healing performing sets on Fri. March 5. Obscene Machine, Fallen Kings, and The Makeshift share the stage on Sat. March 6. The events start at 9:30 p.m.
"I have always been proud of the fact that March Madness has been a connecting point for bands and their fans," says organizer Stuart Johnson. "I have seen bands hook up to play shows together after meeting in the competition, and I’ve seen local bands find new audiences. And that’s what it’s all about for me."
The first-place spot wins a $500 cash prize. Stay tuned for details on week number two.
