Charleston magazine hosted the official Fashion Week kick-off party in a bright, cavernous storefront on King Street Friday night. The Novel pop-up shop temporarily relocated their wares to make room for the crowd and a handful of clothing and art made by local creatives. Margo Kaufman Gallery challenged folks like Marysia, Heather Rose Koonse, Rachel Gordon, Leigh Magar, and Karin Olah to create fashionable pieces of art out of the signature Margo T-shirts. One of our favorites was Erin Perkins’ strapless cocktail dress. Matthew Bowers also created a cool screen-printed tee with a corresponding piece of art. Fashion Week regulars sipped on bellinis, bid on the art, and chatted about the wonderful madness that’s in store for Fashion Week this year. See you all under the tents.
