The Charleston International Film Festival (CIFF) has announced their full official schedule and film roster for this year’s event. Six countries, including 14 filmmakers from the southeast and the Lowcountry, will be represented this year in more than 50 films. The categories range from features and shorts to documentaries and animation. CIFF’s new home, the American Theatre, will host all screenings starting April 8-11. Opening night kicks off at 7 p.m. with Peter Besson’s comedy True Beauty This Night, followed by the world premiere of the feature film The 5th Quarter, starring Aidan Quinn and Andie MacDowell. The film is directed by Rick Bieber, who helmed the 2008 Jury Award for best feature. The next block on opening night will feature an assortment of dark shorts, including Kevin Harrison’s documentary Haunted Charleston. You can find the full film schedule, along with detailed descriptions, trailers, and pictures, online at the CIFF website, CharlestonIFF.com. Tickets are $8 in advance and $9 at the door per screening block and are available online or by calling (843) 817-1617. Festival passes are available for $99, which will give you a pass to every screening, panel, and party (except for the awards dinner).
