The Columbia/Legacy label plans to re-release Iggy & The Stooges’ influential 1973 album Raw Power this month with plenty of extras.

“Unleashed on an unsuspecting public in 1973, Raw Power was a primal scream in the face of the then-prevalent sounds of soft rock and glam,” states a press release. “Now, with the Stooges’ induction into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame [last month], the time is right for Raw Power to roar again.”

The two-disc Legacy Edition will feature the original ’73 album mix (newly remastered) on disc one, and music from a previously unreleased 1973 live show in Atlanta on disc two.

A documentary DVD featuring new interviews and testimonials with the surviving members of the Stooges, Johnny Marr, Chrissie Hynde, Henry Rollins, and others, plus never-before-seen 1973 concert footage, will be included in a box set titled Raw Power: Deluxe Edition.
