The North Charleston Performing Arts Center’s Best of Broadway season will begin early this year with an icon recognizable by just one letter: Z. Liza Minelli in Concert kicks off the season Sept. 24, followed by funny man Tim Conway & Friends Oct. 17. Then you get to laugh at Elle Woods all over again with the musical adaptation of Legally Blonde, Nov. 2-3. A New York revival of A Chorus Line, a classic tale of the triumph and disappointment of a Broadway casting call, will hit the road this fall and visits Charleston Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Spamalot, the musical you dreamed about when watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail for the 75th time, arrives Jan. 11-12. The Aluminum Show will offer unique performance art using large silver tubes (not kidding) on Jan. 22. The season will wrap up with a recent Tony favorite, Spring Awakening, on March 15-16, and ends with the musical that brought the House of Mouse to the modern stage, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, from April 26-27.
