The College of Charleston recently announced the winners of their Student Film Festival. The fifth annual event stems from the school’s film studies program. First place went to Myles Walsh’s stop-motion animated short Relativity. Nicole Lagrone won second place for her documentary Thailand, about the time she spent there as an exchange student. And the comedy My Band by Stephen Massar took third. Former Student Film Festival winners have gone on to bigger and better things; 2009 winner Jesse Berger’s Republic of Pete screened at this year’s Charleston International Film Festival, winning the Audience Choice award.
