Piccolo Spoleto is still a ways off from now, and some people are starting to feel the itch; the Town of Kiawah will scratch it for you with a preview concert on May 2 at 4 p.m. in the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. This event will serve as a taste of what’s to come this year in the Piccolo Spoleto Spotlight Concert Series. Programs include Duo for Flute and Piano by Aaron Copland with flutist Regina Helcher and pianist Ghadi Shayban performing; and Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings, featuring some of Charleston’s finest classical musicians performing — Yuriy Bekker and Alan Molina on violin, Jan-Marie Joyce on the viola, and Damian Kremmer on the cello. The concert will close with a jazz presentation highlighting music by Miles Davis and Fud Livingston. Admission is free and open to the public.
