After forging through all the Spoleto-related madness that’s to come in the next few weeks, you might just want to take a break, sit back, and watch a movie. If so, check out the South Carolina Stories program, which screens as part of Piccolo. The two-night event (June 2 and 3) features independent short films produced over the last two years by state filmmakers. All of the films were funded by the S.C. Film Commissions as part of its Production Fund program, a project started in 2006 to bring together professionals in the industry to develop collaborative projects. One example is Song of Pumpkin Brown, a film produced by Creative Forge Productions with artist Jonathan Green and jazz musician Quentin E. Baxter.
