Daniel MacIvor’s one man show This is What happens Next has divided audiences. For some, it’s a fascinating feat of multi-character playing. For others it’s too much too fast, thanks to MacIvor’s mile-a-minute speech patterns.

MacIvor jokes that it takes people a few minutes to “tune in” to his Canadian accent. But maybe his mixed reception has more to do with the fact that he’s a gay sophisticate in a conservative town more used to straightforward plays and touring Broadway musicals.

Make up your own mind about MacIvor as he rehearses for one of his final Spoleto shows, discusses how he chooses and develops his character, and existentialism in Bugs Bunny cartoons.
