With the general election set last night, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Vincent Sheheen was out of the gate today with a proposal to offer a 20 percent advantage to South Carolina businesses when bidding for government contracts.
The campaign says this is just the first of several big ideas that Sheheen will be rolling out on the campaign trail to focus the attention on growing jobs for South Carolina.
Campaign manager Trav Robertson tells us that the Republicans “know nothing but partisanship.”
“We’re talking about solutions,” he says.
At a stop in Horry County, Sheheen also highlighted his plan to support small businesses within the Commerce Department, helping business owners find investors and navigate through bureaucracy.
