Helena Fox Fine Art recently announced that they will close their doors at the end of July. But don’t go crying “victim of the bad economy” just yet — owner Helena Fox says that it was just “time for a change.”

After nearly seven years of selling fine contemporary representational art (including artist West Fraser, Fox’s husband), Fox will continue consulting on a more personal basis. She also plans to take the business online. Sister gallery Palmetto Bluff Gallery near Beaufort will remain open.

While Fox hopes the decision will improve her “quality of life,” between traveling, consulting, and helping their two children get into college, the couple doesn’t plan on slowing down. “I won’t have any extra time,” Fox laughs. Visit the gallery at 12 Queen Street before it’s gone.
