Megan Jean & The Klay Family Band spent much of the summer touring the East Coast and playing local shows, plus putting final touches on a new studio album. The debut collection, titled Welcome to the Big Top, will be self-released on their label Guts and Know How Records this fall.
They recorded it at Gage Hall this spring. It features 12 new songs that, as Megan Jean says, "shift from gypsy waltzes to pitch-black Americana to political rockabilly to booze-soaked country and back to salt-of-the-earth folk music."
Their next local show is Sat. Aug. 21 at the Mill. Visit meganjean.net for more.
