Did you forget to vote for your favorite Charleston chef for Nightline’s Platelist People’s Choice contest?

The finalists have been announced and no local chefs made it (unless you count Eddie Kwong of E. Noodles & Co. in N. Myrtle Beach as local) — but no worries. The producers were in town yesterday filming at McCrady’s and FIG and were treated to lunch from the new Taco Boy food truck. In addition to James Beard award-winning chefs Sean Brock and Mike Lata, they also filmed Frank Stitt (from Birmingham’s Highlands Bar & Grill) for a Platelist segment, according to producer Sarah Rosenberg’s tweets. If you haven’t seen the segment before, Platelist delves into the world of high profile chefs, getting a glimpse of their kitchens, recipes, and influences.

Today, after breakfast at Joseph’s Restaurant, Rosenberg will be joining Southern food writer John T. Edge for lunch at his favorite soul food hangout — Bertha’s Kitchen (2332 Meeting Street Road). So, if you want to see the filming in action, head on up Meeting Street for some grub and check it out.
