Momma and the Dupree/Wall family musicians hit the dock stage at Bowens Island Restaurant (1870 Bowens Island Road) on Sun. Sept. 5 for Rock the Dock — an evening of blues, soul, and boogie.
Momma and the Redemption Band headline with an opening set from local songwriting act Susie Summers & Al Pugliese (with a full backing band). The rebuilt restaurant at Bowens is now open for business (the old place was destroyed by fire in 2006).
"There’s no place like Bowens Island for a party, and there’s no band like Momma and the Redemption Band," says organizer Andy "Smoky" Weiner.
Those who appreciate creekside beauty, authentic blues and roots music, and homespun Lowcountry humor will surely enjoy this gig. Food and beverages will be available. The event runs from 4-8 p.m. Admission is $10.
