Panic on the Point has become Panic at the Fairgrounds. In late July, local promotion companies Ear for Music and All In Entertainment announced a big Widespread Panic concert at Patriots Point was set for Sat. Oct. 2. The all-day concert was be held in a new space adjacent to the Charleston Harbor Resort.
According to the band’s website and Etix.com, the event has been switched from the grounds at Patriots Point to the more spacious Exchange Park Fairgrounds in Ladson (9850 Hwy. 78), home of the Coastal Carolina Fair.
Tickets are still available through Etix.com for $37.50. Admission is $40 on the day of the show. Gates open at 2 p.m. and music starts at 3 p.m. Opening acts include Leslie, Dead Confederate, The Movement, Boombox, and Yonder Mountain String Band. Widespread Panic hits the stage around 7:45 p.m. Fans can pre-order CDs of the live show. Check widespreadpanic.com/ontour for info and updates.
