The popular Louie D. Project kicked off a weekly gig at Buddy Roe’s Shrimp Shack in Mt. Pleasant (1528 Ben Sawyer Blvd.). Sax man Louie Dixson and his crew — drummer Paul Walls, guitarist J.R. Getches, and bassist Shawn Beckner — play a mix of funk, soul, jazzy rock, and beach every Wednesday evening in September. There’s no cover charge.
They’ll be jamming this week at Snapper Jack’s on Follu on Sun. Sept. 5. They hit the Sullivan’s Island Home Team BBQ on Thurs. Sept. 9, and they perform on Folly at Loggerhead’s on Fri. Sept. 10. Check out myspace.com/louiedandthedixsonsiders for more.
