Today’s daily poll from the Washington Post political blog asks what Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) is after with all of these high-profile endorsements? Mitt Romney and Nikki Haley have a good reason to run around the country making noise — they’re both running early campaigns for 2012. But what is DeMint up to?
Well, the early response (as of 4 p.m.) from WaPo readers is that he’ll run, but it won’t make a difference.
Of the nearly 400 who answered the survey, 72 percent said he’ll mount a campaign, but nearly two-thirds of those people said he “won’t get much traction.”
