MORNING HEADLINES  |  The South Carolina Election Commission said early voting in state runoff elections will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 17 and June 18. Early voting will not be available on June 19 in honor of the Juneteenth holiday.

There are nine runoff races across the state in five categories, with the biggest being between GOP candidates Pamela Evette and Alan Wilson for governor. Other statewide runoffs include GOP candidates for attorney general and commissioner of agriculture.

In Charleston, Jenny Honeycutt and Mark Smith are on the Republican ballot to replace U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace in House District 1. Nancy Lacore and Mac Deford are in a runoff on the Democratic ballot.

Anyone who voted in the June 16 primary election has to stick with that party in the runoff. Those who haven’t yet voted can vote on either side.

The runoff election is June 23.
