Get your trigger finger ready. The League of Charleston Theatre’s Free Night of Theatre is coming up, and you’ll have to be quick on the draw if you want to snag some tickets. They’re available for reservation Sept. 30 at noon at

Co-hosted nationally by Theatre Communications Group, more than 65,000 tickets will be given away across the country. Locally, fans can choose between the following October shows: Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina’s Mary Shelley and the Creature of Fire!, Deuce Theatre’s The Duncan Storm, the Footlight Players’ The Weir, South of Broadway’s Dirty Blonde, the Village Playhouse’s The Marvelous Wonderettes, and a performance by Robert Ivey Ballet.

“We know there is a large group of people out there that think live theater is unaffordable, or that they won’t understand it when they get there, or simply underestimate the level of quality professional productions Charleston has to offer,” says Executive Director Emily Wilhoit. “We want to give those people an opportunity to try us risk-free and free of charge.”
