Monday. Another week means another installment of Redux Contemporary Studioโs Double Vision presentations. This weeks speakers are Mikayla Mackness and Jenny Bloom. Mackness will discuss lightโs confessional quality in photography and Bloomโs show-and-tell presentation focuses on recycling in Charleston County and the societal obstacles that effect environmental efforts in the area.
Whole Foods Market is hosting Class Family Chiropractic for Shop with the Doc, an informative talk on label reading, toxic ingredients, healthy shopping on a budget, and more. Freeloaders donโt like to spend money, but this will help the illusive buck work in the Freeloaderโs favor.
Tuesday. Every other Tuesday at The Mill in North Charleston is Honky-Tonk Night with Mac Leaphart and his latest band My Ragged Company. They play honky-tonk standards, originals, and โa whole lot of Waylon.โ
Wednesday. S.C. Coordinator of the Partners for Fish and Wildlife and chairman of the Charleston Audubonโs McAlhany Nature Preserve Joe Cockrell is presenting a program on habitat diversity, natural integrity, and the use of the Audubonโs preserve.
Saturday. Local songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Doug Walters is celebrating the release of his new solo album at Artโs Bar & Grill with a free show with some of his friends from Torture Town, Fairy God Muthas, as well as other special guests. Vagabond is a mostly instrumental work that was three years in the making and is more atmospheric and eclectic than his previous releases.
Sunday. Wrapping up this weekโs free events is your last chance to head to Eye Level Art to check out City Pick A Painted Reality, an exhibit that looks at contemporary art from both a real and abstract perspective with work from Chris Dotson and Evan Armstrong.
