Splitting his time between bases in Charleston and his hometown of Orlando, pop-rock songwriter Matt MacKelcan stays busy on the road playing solo and full-band gigs all over the Southeast. Earlier this year, he made time to record a new batch of melodic originals at Rollercoaster Recording in Burbank, Calif., and locally at Awendaw Green. He’s set to release the best tracks next week as a six-song mini-album titled Slow Down.
“I am very excited about the songs,” says MacKelcan. “The concept behind the new disc is that everything is faster, bigger, better, etc., and I have felt like moments can get lost in the rush.”
