Husk isn’t the only new restaurant on Queen Street. Just down the block, David’s on Queen Street opened a couple weeks ago and is serving up Caribbean cuisine for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is the creation of South Carolinian David Baysden, who has worked in the service industry for the past three decades. After spending a few years in the Caribbean, growing accustomed to the island way of life, David decided to return to the Lowcountry and bring the flavors along.
Chef Jessica Cobb from Atlanta commands David’s kitchen. Chef Cobb gets all of her seafood fresh from Crosby’s and milk- and grass-fed goat from a local South Carolina farm. They’ve got their full menu online. David’s has patio dining and an outdoor tiki bar. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday for brunch. Check it out and then report back. 68 Queen St. (843) 793-3994
