The Fort Sumter-Fort Moultrie Historical Trust is gearing up to recognize the 150th anniversary of South Carolina’s secession from the Union this weekend. The event, entitled “A House Divided: Secession and its Legacy,” officially starts on Fri. At 7 p.m., a free lecture series, featuring nationally-known Civil War historians, takes place at Hagood Stadium. Friday’s symposium is titled “Felt History: A Remembrance of the Civil War.” Two other lectures will be held on Dec. 4: “The Campaign for Disunion” at 10 a.m. and “The Revolution of 1860” at 2 p.m.

The event wraps up with a 7:30 p.m. performance at Fort Moultrie called In the Name of Liberty. Visit sccivilwar.org for more information.
