Local jazz fans should keep an eye and ear out for keyboardist Jordan Gravel’s new solo album Inner Preservation.
Gravel, a longtime Charleston musician, worked with drummer Stuart White and bassist Ben Wells in a local studio last fall. Gravel’s brother Andrew performs on two tracks as well.
The collection is the pianist’s first major release of original material. He and the combo have a CD release show booked at Eye Level Art for Thurs. Feb. 17.
Catch Gravel weekly on Sunday evenings from 6-9 p.m. at Mercato (102 N. Market St.). Check out myspace.com/jgravelmusic for more info.
