Robert Lighthouse

Celebrating its 21st year, the Lowcountry Blues Bash kicks off today (Feb. 3) with a slew of blues, soul, and swing. A variety of acts are performing at the Charleston County Library, the Lowcountry Senior Center, Coco Vivo Fine Art and Design, the Reel Bar in Mt. Pleasant, both Fiery Ronโ€™s Home Team BBQ spots (in West Ashley and on Sullivanโ€™s Island), the Blind Tiger, and the Southend Brewery and Smokehouse.

The Blues Bash was organized by local musician Gary Erwin, whoโ€™s been performing for years in Charleston under the stage name Shrimp City Slim. โ€œ

Singer/guitarist/harmonica player Robert Lighthouse, a native of Sweden currently based in Washington, D.C., performs several shows this week. A familiar character on the Blues Bash roster from year to year, Lighthouse specializes in Mississippi Delta blues and Chicago guitar blues. His most recent album is a collection titled Deep Down in the Mud.

Lighthouse performed at the Library today (Thurs. Feb. 3), and heโ€™ll do two sets at the Southend Brewery & Smokehouse from 6-9 p.m. this evening. Look for him on Fri. Feb. 4 at the Coco Vivo from 6-8 p.m. and at the Blind Tiger at 9 p.m. He concludes his stint on Sat. Feb. 5 at the Griffon with a set at 8:30 p.m.
