Band of Horses

Amidst the Gagas, Biebers, and Perrys at last nights 53rd Grammy Awards, the S.C. group Band Of Horses were among the heavy hitters nominated for an award. Band Of Horses was nominated for “Best Alternative Album” for Infinite Arms, their third studio release. The band lost the award to the Black Keys’ Brothers.

The future seems bright for them, though. They are currently in the midst of a European tour, which concludes in Sweden in June. Infinite Arms has been on numerous Best Albums of 2010 lists, including NPR Listener, Paste, Q, and Filter. Their current single, “Laredo” made the “Best Songs of 2010” list in Rolling Stone.

The band returns to the Southeast for a show in Atlanta on April 2 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater with special guests the Jayhawks. Here’s hoping they get back to the Charleston area soon and make another award-worthy album.
