Food is the new rock, all right.

Guy Fieri, the food dude himself, will roll into town on May 17 for “an unscripted and wildly entertaining performance — complete with interactive cooking stations, secret tips and dishes from his forthcoming cookbook as well as behind-the-scenes stories from the road, and much more.”

Oh my. Secret tips? What could those be?

The event is being marketed much like a rock show. Indeed, the press release promises the show will “mix the best elements of a live cooking show, the fun of a variety revue, and the non-stop adrenaline rush of a rock concert.”

Holy cow.

Here’s more: “Flair” bartender Hayden “Woody” Wood, author of The Liquid Kitchen, will be the opening act. He’ll do things like this:

If you’re really super excited, you can treat yourself like a VIP and indulge in the “Off Da Hook” package which gets you an onstage seat (near DJ Cobra’s orange fur-covered booth), a chance to sample the food (made by Fieri himself!), a tour laminate, a copy of his book, and a pre-show meet and greet with the dude himself. Don’t have $250? Well then, there’s the “Kulinary Krew” package, which gets you an orchestra seat, a tour laminate (what is that anyway?), a book, and a pre-show meet and greet. Sorry, no food for you, but it’ll still cost you $148.50.

Regular tickets with no tour laminates or chances to meet Fieri are priced at $48.50. Watch out, Prince. This Fieri guy is no joke.
