David Gray, 2011

Acclaimed British pop songwriter David Gray โ€” a gentle-voiced vocalist known best for his 2000 single โ€œBabylonโ€ โ€” recently announced a concert at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.

Over the winter, his intimate, acoustic-based Lost and Found tour made its way across the U.S. in support of his ninth studio album Foundling. The 14-date spring tour includes a big show at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville and a stop at the Dave Matthews Band Caravan Festival in Atlantic City, N.J.

According to press releases, Grayโ€™s current set features plenty of new songs from Foundling (including the single โ€œA Moment Changes Everythingโ€) and his recent folk-pop collection Draw the Line as well as โ€œreinterpretations of songs from his entire catalog.โ€

Gray is solid for the Performing Arts Center on Fri. July 1 at 8 p.m. Tickets for show go on sale for $49.50 and $39.50 (plus applicable fees) on Fri. April 15 at 10 a.m. at the Coliseum box office, ticketmaster.com, and by phone at (800) 745-3000.
