Jeff Hodges of Charleston Sound

This spring, producer/engineer Jeff Hodges has stayed busy at the Charleston Sound recording studio in Mt. Pleasant. He worked with former Plainfield Project frontman Ben Fagan and his new band the Holy City Hooligans and songwriter Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses last month.

Hodges also finished recording local band Sol Driven Train’s basic tracks and overdubs for their forthcoming album. The group plans to mix the tunes with Hodges and the Charleston Sound team this month. “We just got off a 16-day tracking session,” Hodges says of the SDT sessions. “It’s going to be an incredible, groundbreaking record — so fun, vibrant, organic, peppy, witty, and whimsical — all at the same time.”
