Mt. Pleasant is getting a new beer store, coffee shop, and tea house all rolled into one.

Harrika’s Brew Haus focuses on all things brewed, according to co-owner Rob Davis. He says the little house on Ben Sawyer Boulevard will have a big craft beer selection — both on tap and bottled — along with local teas and coffees. It’s the second location for the concept. Davis’ father-in-law runs a similar operation in North Carolina.

“Our main focus is craft beer,” he says. “We have an on-premise license and a four-draft system keg machine. We’ll be filling growlers, pitchers, glasses, whatever.”

The house has a big backyard and patio where they plan to have live music during the day on weekends. There’s a cigar smoking section in back, in addition to a looseleaf tea collection, local honey, and beer soaps (not for eating).

The Brew Haus will be open daily from 11 a.m. -6 p.m., with later hours on Friday and Saturday that will most likely be no later than 9 p.m. “We don’t want to be a late-night bar,” says Davis.

They expect to be open next Friday, and hope Mt. P’s beer lovers will stop by and enjoy a frosty mug of beer on the back deck. They are located across the street from Buddy Roe’s at 1537 Ben Sawyer Blvd.
