Three members of local indie-rock band M-Tank — drummer Jason Walter, bassist Walter Lane, and guitarist Scott Dence — suffered serious injuries in a major automobile accident last week. Dence was hurt the worst, sustaining a broken scapula, broken ribs, and a collapsed lung.

In support of their new disc Modern Unicorn, the band was touring the Southeast over the last week. The trip was supposed to conclude with local shows at the Pour House and the Mill this weekend. When the news broke, Charleston-based songwriter Joel Hamilton adjusted the band lineup at the Pour House Aug. 5 to include Bill Carson and rock trio HeyRocco in a benefit for the banged-up band. All proceeds from the show will go toward M-Tank’s medical expenses. Visit for the latest updates.
