Jah Works

Presented by the Parks and Recreation Commission, the summertime Reggae Nights series continues this week at James Island County Park on James Island.

On Sat. Aug. 20, attendees can enjoy several funky sets from popular sextet Jah Works, a band of brothers based out of Baltimore. The group is “dedicated to writing, recording, and performing original reggae music.” They specialize in a mix of traditional Jamaican roots and dancehall with elements of hip-hop, drum ’n’ bass, and funk. The band’s latest release is titled Rewind.

The park opens at 7:30 p.m., and the music starts at 8:30 p.m. Admission is $8 (adults). Visit jahworks.com and ccprc.com for more.
