In the City Paperโs Fall Arts Issue, which we released last month, you may have read our profile on local filmmaker Lee Waldrep. And you may have thought to yourself, โThis is all well and good, but it kind of sucks that I canโt see his film.โ If you happened to find yourself faced with this dilemma, itโs a good thing that the Charleston International Film Festival is hosting a special shorts screening at Cinebarre at 7 p.m. on Thurs. Sept. 15.
The block includes films funded by the South Carolina Film Commissionโs indie grant program, including Waldrepโs Toogoodoo, Maria Whiteโs documentary The Debutante Hunters, and Steve Danielsโ Jean-Pierre Jeunet-like Dirty Silverware, all of which played at the 2011 CIFF. The night will also feature Civil by Erik Aldolphson and Rebecca Pryceโs Liberating Jessie, a work in progress.
Tickets are $7 and can be purchased in advance at CIFF’s website.
