Several new galleries will celebrate their grand opening at the French Quarter Art Walk the evening of Fri. Oct. 7.
First, there’s Atelier Gallery, which moved into the old Ralph Lauren space at 153 King St. Then there’s Shelby Lee Gallery at 175 Church St., a collaboration between Studio 151 Fine Arts and the Shelby Lee Gallery. The cooperative includes many artists from the now-defunct Waterfront Gallery, including Peggie Ellis, Dixie Dugan, and Bob Graham.
In addition, Lambert Gray Gallery (54 Broad St.) opens its doors with a party celebrating Holly Herrick’s new cookbook, Tart Love. Herrick will be in attendance, and the walls will be filled with food-related paintings from artists like Robert Lange, Tate Nation, Hirona Matsuda, and Shannon Runquist. And lastly, Kasun Studio (113 Church St.) celebrates its new home featuring works by owner Stephen Kasun.
