Charleston singer Elise Testone’s first appearance on American Idol was nearly a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment. But she delivered a performance which wowed the judges even if it didn’t wow the editors. All three judges agreed that the Freeloaders frontwoman deserved a ticket Hollywood for the next stage of the competition.

As we noted yesterday, several American Idol spoiler sites claim that Testone, well known around town for her soulful vocals and her James Brown tribute shows, is one of the competition’s final 42 contestants.

As a side note, Testone’s golden-ticket moment occurred surprisingly enough at the Savannah auditions and not in Charleston, where Idol stopped by over the summer.

For a piss-poor bootleg of her performance and to find out what others are saying about her, watch the videos below.
