Charleston Police Department will hold the first citizens’ advisory group meeting of the year tonight at the John L. Dart Library on King Street. Can’t make it tonight? Don’t worry: There will be two more meetings every month through November.

The purpose of the meetings is to let you share your concerns, meet Chief Gregory Mullen and members of his command staff, and hear what police are trying to do in your community. Meetings will be held on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The meetings are organized according to patrol teams in the following geographic areas:

• Team 1 (Upper peninsula, north of Calhoun Street) meetings will be held at the John L. Dart Library at 1067 King St. and the Arthur W. Christopher Community Center at 265 Fishburne St.

• Team 2 (Lower Peninsula, below Calhoun Street) meetings will be held at the Charleston County Main Library at 68 Calhoun St.

• Team 3 (James Island and Johns Island) meetings will be held at the James Island Library Branch at 1248 Camp Road.

• Team 4 (West Ashley) meetings will be held at Ashley River Creative Arts School at 1871 Wallace School Road and Bees Ferry Community Center at 1580 Ashley Gardens Blvd.

• Team 5 (Daniel Island and Cainhoy) will handle issues at regularly scheduled neighborhood association meetings.
