It was the third fourth night of crazy oyster shucking and sucking at the Battery, and the cops finally arrived — as did the lovely Top Cheftestant Jennifer Carroll.

It’s not like I wanted the cops to come, but I felt a little better about the diligence of my local protection force once they became aware of a large gathering of drunken revelers at our most prominent waterfront park.

The beauty of it was they didn’t stop the party. They just made the golf cart move from the median to the sidewalk.

Which is good, because employers of ladies like these (CNN, Southern Living) might frown upon them getting arrested at a wine and food festival.

The big attraction of this installment of the Lambs and Clams World Tour was the appearance of Jen Carroll, who spent the day visiting various places with a TV crew in tow. I heard they were at Husk, the culinary village, the Grocery, FIG, and they even stopped in at Cypress for the afterparty (I had to sign a five-page release, but don’t expect to see me on the final cut. I cursed too much.) I was thrilled to meet her and discover that she’s sweet and approachable and deserves all those crushes out there.

Tonight the Lambs and Clams crew is cooking a big spread for the chef afterparty at FIG. It’s been quite a world tour for these guys.
