Elise Testone’s days in American Idol’s bottom-three basement are apparently over. Once again, the Charleston singer wowed judges — and voters — this time with a fiery rendition of the Led Zeppelin classic “Whole Lotta Love” on last week’s Wednesday night show. Testone is now one of only eight contestants in the competition, and getting to the final two is going to be tough for Testone. She’s not the only big voice left in the competition; 16-year-old diva-in-training Jessica Sanchez and gospel singer Joshua Ledet both have the pipes and the showmanship to make it all the way to end, while Dave Matthews-wannabe Phillip Phillips is a skillful musician and charismatic performer whose good looks are surely melting the hearts of Idol’s tween voters. Stay tuned.
