What’s not to like about the bánh mì? Vietnam’s national sandwich is spicy, savory, crunchy, tart, and even a little sweet (when done right). Jason Sakran and Jeremy Spencer of Street Hero will be putting their bánh mì-making skills to the test with a new Vietnamese sandwich shop slated to open in the former Remedy Market at 162 Spring St.

They expect to be ready for business by mid-May, and they’ll be serving the flavorful sandwiches, tacos, and salads that made their Street Hero operation famous at the 2011 Charleston Farmers Market. Stay tuned for more.
