A bicyclist was killed by a motorist in a hit-and-run around 1:30 a.m. today, according to the Charleston Police Department.

Corporal Fred Bowie says a vehicle struck the bicyclist in the area of Savannah Highway and White Oak Drive (near Bessinger’s Barbecue and the Early Bird Diner) and then left the scene, possibly heading southbound. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
