A former school district administrator with a passion for vintage fashion, Julie Wheat became a full-time designer shortly after landing a job at the Art Institute in 2010. Since then she’s taken her retro-inspired line, Cavortress, nationwide, participating in events like Miami Swim, New Orleans Fashion Week, Style X in Austin, and Viva Las Vegas Weekender Rockabilly Fashion Show.

Specializing in body-conscious swimwear and fun-in-the-sun casualwear, Wheat designs many of her own fabrics. Her 2012 collection includes some of her signature bombshell suits along with bolder anchor-print teeny bikinis and flowing pleated cover-ups that can easily transition from the beach to the bar.
